Emergency Medical Responder

The Emergency Medical Responder course provides Cadets, Recruits, and Sworn Personnel the skills to conduct preliminary assessments and provide enhanced medical services in times of need. Students are taught lifesaving interventions to apply until such time additional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrive to provide advanced care. Training topics include Basic Life Support, First Aid, treatment of illness and injury, and the treatment of soft tissue and bone injuries.

Training Requirements:

  • Sworn Personnel - 6 hours annually
  • Cadets - 69 hours
  • Recruits - 10 hours
