History of the Division of the Academy and Training

In April 2019 under the direction of Director Brendan F. Kelly the Division of the Academy and Training (DAT) was created. The newly established DAT combined the Illinois State Police Academy, Quartermaster, and Recruitment. The command structure of the DAT is comprised of the Office of the Deputy Director and the Illinois State Police Academy (ISPA). The ISPA consist of the Office of the Commander and the four Bureaus; Logistics Bureau, Training Development Bureau, Physical Skills Bureau, and Recruitment and Substance Testing Bureau. The Illinois State Police Honor Guard Detail reports directly to the DAT, Office of the Deputy Director.
