Troop 1

Counties Served: Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago

Troop 1 is located in northwest Illinois and encompasses Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago counties. Headquarters are located in Sterling and Pecatonica. Troopers in Troop 1 patrol interstates I-39, I-88, and I-90, as well as U.S. Route 20. In addition to normal patrol functions, ISP Troopers work throughout the Troop addressing gun and drug trafficking within local communities and on the interstates. ISP responsibilities include traffic enforcement, criminal patrol, commercial motor vehicle enforcement, and assisting the public on Illinois roadways.
