The Illinois State Police (ISP) social media pages are intended to provide information to the public about ISP’s mission, goals, programs, activities, events, news, stories, photographs, and videos. This platform may also be used to share critical public safety information during an emergency situation.

ISP encourages courteous and respectful comments.

ISP does not discriminate against commentators, nor their views.

However, ISP reserves the right to delete the following:

  1. Comments that are derogatory or discriminatory of a constitutionally protected class, e.g., racist comments.
  2. Suggestion or encouragement of illegal activity.
  3. Threats to any person or organization.
  4. Posts containing the personal identifying information of a third party.

ISP does not allow photographs, videos, audio recordings, (and/or similar media) or links to other pages or websites to be posted by anyone other than an authorized ISP employees. If posted/submitted, such content/material/information/media shall be restricted, removed, and/or deleted.

Freedom of speech and expression are encouraged within our guidelines. Please note, the opinions of followers/fans/writers on ISP pages do not reflect the views of ISP.

ISP social media pages are not monitored 24 hours a day and should not be used as a substitute for 911. In case of an EMERGENCY, dial 911 immediately.
