Officials Announce Commemoration Ceremony for ISP Trooper Christopher Lambert
SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Illinois State Police (ISP) Heritage Foundation will be hosting a ceremony commemorating the addition of Trooper Christopher Lambert’s name to the memorial wall in the ISP Memorial Park located at 615 E. Lawrence in Springfield, on May 1, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. Family members of Trooper Christopher Lambert, Governor JB Pritzker, Acting ISP Director Brendan F. Kelly, ISP Merit Board Director Jack S. Garcia, and other distinguished guests will be present for the ceremony.
Trooper Christopher Lambert tragically lost his life in the line of duty on January 12, 2019, when he was struck by a vehicle while on the scene of a traffic crash. The ISP Memorial Park pays tribute to the life and dedicated service of Trooper Christopher Lambert and the other 69 ISP officers who have been killed in the line of duty. This location will forever serve as a place to honor those who selflessly made the ultimate sacrifice to protect others.
“This memorial park honors the men and women of the Illinois State Police who selflessly laid down their lives for others. It is our duty to continue to honor their memory and legacy by caring for our ISP families through fellowships and ceremonies such as these. And while it has been a historically challenging time for our ISP family, we will continue to hold our heads high and fulfill every ISP mission with integrity, service, and pride because that is what the individuals honored here would want us to do,” stated Acting Director Kelly.
*In the event of inclimate weather, the commemoration ceremony will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, which is located at 524 E. Lawrence in Springfield, Illinois. *
