Any servicemember of the United States (U.S.) Armed Forces, including enlisted members and officers, along with their spouses, are eligible to apply for the ISP SkillBridge Internship Program. The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge Program enables servicemembers to train and intern with experienced ISP sworn officers and/or civilian personnel during the last 180 days of their military service, helping them prepare for a possible career with the ISP. While participating in SkillBridge, the servicemember and/or spouse may continue to receive military pay and benefits through the DOD.

The Illinois State Police (ISP) SkillBridge Internship Program aims to give military personnel and their spouses a clear view of careers with the ISP. Through practical internship experience, SkillBridge interns can observe and learn about general law enforcement activities across different ISP teams, units, and divisions.
