Internships
The purpose of the Illinois State Police Internship Program is to offer unpaid practical work experience to students who desire to pursue a career with the Illinois State Police. Intern placement is dependent upon operational needs and availability, and priority is given to intern applicants who are enrolled in a structured intern program facilitated by a university internship coordinator.
Interns may have opportunities to participate in ride-alongs, observe crime scenes and court proceedings, assist with research, interact with sworn and civilian employees, and observe forensic laboratory techniques or perform lab assignments for forensic laboratory internships.
